Mmmmmm… Tarte Tatin!

Today we made upside-down apple tart, the French version of apple pie.  We also watched a clip featuring Julia Child making the tart, and learned a song about apples in French (links below).  The tarts turned out beautifully, and were so delicious!

Today’s vocabulary:

Trente – thirty                                                             la pomme – apple

Quarante – forty                                                          la poêle – frying pan

Cinquante – fifty                                                          la crème – cream

Soixante – sixty                                                           fraîche (frais) – fresh

Éplucher – to peel                                                        le four – oven
